First, let's see where the iPad can fit into your life. For an average user, the iPad is a lucky thing. I’ve been around computers for most of my life and grew up with the difficulties of fixing computers, installing windows, etc. But every time a layer of difficulty gets absentminded and computers become more like microwaves, where I just don’t have to care the smallest amount bit about what’s going on inside that magic box, I feel reassured. Apple gets this and the iPad is another step in that way. Now you can just focus on writing that email or creating that presentation without having to worry about where you files are saved or whether some Fire fox tab is hogging your memory.

Re: How the iPad is redefining the personal computer.

Thanks for this information.
www.applecomputerstores.net

Re: How the iPad is redefining the personal computer.

I'm not finished read this yet, but it's so fabulous 'n I'll back again when I was finished my job :D
Re: Exhaustive Review of Mobile Me and Alternatives

Well this review was alternatives to using MobileMe. Since iWeb now publishes via FTP then you can host the site any where.

What your asking for is different than what the post focused on.

But quickly I would say that if you want to step up from iWeb. Then the next app would be Rapid Weaver.

But for me it's making less and less sense to use a local non web based app. WordPress, Tumblr, Square Space have become so easy to use and yet much more powerful that a static site like iWeb or Rapid Weaver will make.

Re: Exhaustive Review of Mobile Me and Alternatives

What would be recommended web publishing alternatives like iweb? You didnt really give an opinion on this. You'll see what I mean.

http://gallery.me.com/freckles...

There is also a free Mobile Me photo gallery app on the app store nowhere all your photos are browsable in the app and you can flick through them. You can even connect to other users galleries but only if they approve you.

Re: Exhaustive Review of Mobile Me and Alternatives

Interesting analysis. I would like to know how I can create a website (hopefully very simply, like through iWeb) that allows iPhones to scroll from one picture to the next. I've seen the erasability of iWeb for publishing websites for photos, but it does not allow for the photo scrolling that the Photo App allows iPhone users to do.

Re: How the iPad is redefining the personal computer.

But I still prefer Mac instead of iPad.

Re: How the iPad is redefining the personal computer.

In the future we will probably have implanted computers linked to our neuronal network. It will be something like the Matrix movie or maybe even better. Technology evolution is very fast paced and you never know what will happen next.
_________________________________
HTTP Diameter

Re: How the iPad is redefining the personal computer.

You have the choice wether or not to buy an iPad. Don't buy a product if it does meet your needs. That's like buying a car and then complaining it doesn't fly. No one is suppression your freedom.

Like I mention in the post. A file system with folders and sub folders is complex and unnecessary for this device. The iPad is not for nerds that have an obsession with the hierarchal file system.

I mean seriously. Give me an example of why you need this and why on an iPad?

By the way you can put files on the iPad via iTunes and apps like DropBox and iDisk provide a way to organize and access documents. Probably not satisfactory to you.

Re: How the iPad is redefining the personal computer.

When the iPad allows the basic privilege and rights of putting multiple files in the same folder, virtual or otherwise, I will consider the iPad to be liberating. As it stands now it is just a different form of control and suppression.

Re: How the iPad is redefining the personal computer.

I really like your blog and website.
